I found some silence and learned to listen when I was called to slow down ...

I’m Chantel, a journalist,
writer and yoga teacher...

I’ve always believed that no story unfolds in vain, and that all the varied things I was doing, would one day converge to pave my path before me. And then all I would have to do is allow myself to follow.

Since then I have worked as a community journalist, I have managed small and large teams of staff. I have taught. And I have studied. I have surfed waves of change, some of which have been blissful, while others have winded me. I have immersed myself in the study of meditation, yoga, Vedic philosophy, I’ve lost huge amounts of weight, gained some back. I’ve run marathons… and then injured myself to the point that I had to stop running. I learned to play again and certified as a Primal Play coach. I trained as a yoga teacher. I found some silence and learned to listen when I was called to slow down.

Then I launched my yoga studio in Athlone, Cape Town. And it is here that I am weaving together all the different threads of my life to create an offering that inspires those who come to the Yoga Dojo to make their practice their own and to follow yoga in a way that honours their own body, ability and creativity.
